A blog to me means real life. This is not a book! My punctuations will most likely be inappropriate or non existent and my grammar will surely be lacking. Michael has no confidence in my writing abilities so this would just be another task on his long list of to dos.
I have heard people say before that realtors donāt do much. Man those people have obviously never been a realtor or married to one. His phone is constantly ringing and dinging! Emails and phone calls right after another! Many times while he is covered in literal poop or into some intense project relating to one of his other āhatsā.
When Michael became a realtor our only goal in the process was that this license would allow us to sell our own listings and we could also see any market listing at our will. Little did we know this credential would blossom into helping so many amazing clients find homes of their own.
This at times can be the most frustrating part of a day. Anyone that works restoring/flipping houses knows that you can drive to your local hardware store to get āwhat you needā only to return back to the project to find out you didnāt get ANYTHING that you really needed! Causing another trip back to the store! One day I hope that we can take this responsibility off of Michael! NOW HIRING ERRAND BOY! Must be well mannered and not talk back about returning to store for $.25 plumbing elbow.
He does it all folks. We donāt send our trash with others to the local dump and 99% of the time we are too cheap to get a dumpster. So this means at least once a week the trusty trailer has to be loaded and taken to the smelly dump. I donāt wish to elaborate on the smelly nature of this job but letās just say I have never once exited the car at the dump!
Around the job sites I consider Michael the jack of all trades. He knows knows just enough about everything. Michaelās mom always says, āI had no idea he knew how to do all this! He never did any of it when he lived at home!ā
Funny storyā¦We decided we wanted to get married at 10 PM on 4/3/14. We wrote our local judge on Facebook and he told us he could marry us the next day before court at 8 AM. After we found out it was a go I called my parents so that they could drive the 1.5 hours down to Galveston from Spring. So at this point its midnight and we have a Judge and witnesses! All you need next is a honeymoon location! We knew after a 7 AM wedding we wanted to fly out ASAP to somewhere tropical. None being the wiser of the travel dangers we booked a flight for noon and a hotel in Acapulco!
So 4/4/14 after our shotgun wedding at 7 AM and 8 AM reception at Waffle House it was official!
Michael makes this life possible. Without him I couldnāt do it. He keeps us in the ring when times get tough. He fights for the long haul for our family and our future. We havenāt been lucky enough yet to be blessed with children but are building up quite the zoo of animals until then!
These various hats Michael wears donāt begin to scratch the surface of the man he is but should only give you an idea of what he can become.
This blog is a great idea. And as a new client I know how busy Michael’s schedule is. Y’all are doing a great job.
When did Ashley and Michael Corday get married? When is their wedding anniversary?
We got married 4/4/14!
PLEASE tell me Season 3 is in the works…I dearly love your show…you guys just make my heart smile!
Of course you did?. Well planned spontaneity indeed!!!
Love yāallās show. So glad yāall restore those beautiful houses. When I watch yāall I donāt feel like Iām watching a reality show. Yāall feel like neighbors. Keep up the great work.
Will Michael tell Patrick how amazing pedicures are? I’ve been trying to get him to go with me!
Ashley you are totally awesome!!!
The perfect person to be married to Michael!!! You match in awesomeness!! I don’t know who I love the most??. You are the heart of the island??
Awesome! Great blog, Michael is a very hard working man that I am proud to say he is my son.
Proud mommy talk, but he deserves it
What a lovely tribute you’ve written about your husband. You two are such a beautiful couple and deserve all the happiness and success that your hard work will lead to.
U two are amazing. Your work is impeccable.. Michael, your mom I have been friends for years. See her a couple times a week when we play Mah Jongg. Everyone is always bragging on you two.
Keep up the good work! We are all so proud of you!
This is great Ashley! You’re a very lucky man Michael. You are both blessed, and we are all lucky to have you living in our community!
Thank you for sharing your fun loving story!!
Love the blog!! You don’t find many other like you both. So happy to hear about others that are as “crazy” as me and my Mike. We are always told
We take on too much and that we are crazy. We love it all (too many hats tomlist here but antique house restoration is just one) and wouldn’t change anything. Keep up the great team work and spontaneity!!!! Glad you didn’t listen to that teacher – great blog!
Good morning! That was great, and I’m looking forward to more. š Did you get a green light for your show? We loved the pilot, and we’re routing for you guys from Houston. We love the Island and what you are doing there.
Good luck to you both.
This is great. Glad I’m not the only one who gets back to my job sites after being errand boy just to turn around and go grab some other small items. And yes the dump runs are quite the adventure ?
Great paper. I would give you a 100, no fail here. You are a blessed wife. Following to see when your show is going to start up. Keep up the great work.
Is that Michael on the Liberty Mutual Commercial?
He’s not! But we get asked this a lot! Finally went and looked at the commercial. It looks exactly like him. Good eye
He has a dopelganger!
I am wondering he same thing!!
The dude playing volleyball looks like Michaelās doppelgƤnger!!
I was thinking the same thing..
Like many, I thought the same thing. I Googled the commercial.
And now we need to hear about you from Michael!
what a great blog start! so interesting and love the story and passion behind the journey to both of your goals. i could not think of a more devoted couple to make these dreams come true. risks become accomplishments and dreams can become reality ?
shoot for the āļø’s. what both of you do is more than extraordinary but about bringing life into houses others would not dare to touch. saving galveston homes from demoliation while preserving character.

Love your post! We live by Spring and every time we go to Galveston we think it would be amazing to run into you guys. Thanks for helping to save Galveston!!! I have been to other beaches around the world, but I love my beautiful home beach of Galveston the most. ā¤ļø

Love the blog, Ashley and it is a great idea!! I also love that I will be able to keep up with you guys from over here in Cajun Country! Keep up the good (and hard) work!
That Waffle House reception shot is everything!
Luv your wedding story. My husband & I were married at the Gazebo in downtown Grapevine, TX. Walked across the st. to Main St. Cafe for breakfast with friends. La Jolla, California. Got to have a Beach!
Whoops, need coffee this morning. Meant to say our Honeymoon was in La Jolla
Great blog and love your show! Sounds like a perfect wedding to me!
It was our kinda perfect!
My hubby is crazy about rehabbing shows but the only one I watch with him is yours. I think you and Michael have the perfect relationship. Good job I am 76 because I have a crush on Michael and you of course. ??
Love your love storyā”!
Thanks for following along!
Truly love the show and all you do in saving these gorgeous homes. Hope to get there on a visit; maybe on the way to Nawlins as I’m a native from Baton Rouge living in Southern California.Your ideas and execution are great; keep it up! All the best – love the blog also. Thank you ! ! Tommye
I think you two are awesome and love the show!
The older homes have such personality and beauty that you just donāt see in today!
After you all get through with these gems they just shine !
Keep rocking it!!!
Watching reruns of Season 1 and hoping for season 2. Love all that you do to save the lively āold ladiesā that these homes are.
I lived in Spring from 1977 to 2000, we also had a beach house on Bolivar.
Keep up the fantastic work you are doing
Wow such a beautiful testament to your husband and how lucky you are to be blessed with humor and affection I hope blessings are sent to you both what a beautiful love story I just love yāall are my favorite couple
Is Micheal on the Liberty Mutual commercial? That guy on the Beach playing Volleyball with Doug looks and talks like him. You guys are great.
I think it is him.
I was wondering the same thing.
I thought the same thing, as does my husband. Please, somebody confirm one way or the other! PLEASE!!
He’s not! But it does look exactly like him!
Have your show recorded so I can watch an episode whenever I want. Love the carefree relationship you have together, like when you two are relaxing lying on the ground when you were restoring the Victorian house. You seem to get along so well together which is refreshing to see. Your little girl is adorable and I was thrilled we got to see her on the show before the season was over. Love your show. Wishing you a long and happy future.
My husband and I absolutely love your show! We love Victorian homes, and antique architecture. The way you both keep the original details is so refreshing. We love to collect antiques and reuse them in various ways. I have enjoyed watching the 2 of you refresh homes that seem lost beyond repair. Warms my heart!
Love watching your restorations in Galveston AND enjoy seeing how well you work together. Totally unrelated but wondering if Michael played beach volleyball in a Liberty Mutual commercial?
He didn’t! But we do get asked this all the time. I actually posted the photo the other day and told everyone it wasn’t him. I can’t believe how sharp everyones eyes are!
Love you both and your story!! Will keep watching and hope to meet you soon!
I have been wondering if it was Michael as well on the Liberty Mutual commercial. They could be twins.
Your show is my favorite. Not only do you produce miracles on those downtrodden houses you restore, you do so with a flair and chemistry unmatched by other similar shows. Galveston is lucky to have you both and the rest of us are lucky to se the fantastic work you do. Is there any word on season3? If DIY or HGTV are smart they will renew and have you guys in their long term plans. Ashley, I love your special projects for each house and you have an awesome sense of humor. Michael is blessed to have you by his side.
I am so excited to see you have a blog! It’s my goal for when I retire! š We’re coming to Galveston in July for my husband’s job. I want to go to the ice cream shop! Can’t wait!! Love your show and have watched many episodes several time! Thanks for what you do! We have loved seeing Galveston recover from the hurricanes and am anxious to maybe seeing some of your work!
I love your show! So amazing to see you work your magic on these old historic homes in Galveston and save them from being torn down! Ashley, you and Michael are so talented and I love watching both of you work together so well. Thank you for sharing that talent with us!!
Loving your tv show from Ontario, Canada. As the manager of heritage planning for a municipality, you guys undertake what we as staff recommend and require for heritage restoration projects. Restoration of historic windows and exterior cladding- thank you for showing how it can be done. Looking forward to many more seasons.
My husband and I love watching your shows!! The chemistry between you two is adorable to watch and your creativity is amazing!! Thank you for being so genuine and keep up the great work!!!
Broken upā with your partner and want to get her or him back email Robinsonbuckler11 @gmail com………………………
I am so thrilled to see you’ll be coming back for Season 3! I DVR and watch every single episode on the DIY channel, and each episode has something special that I may have missed the first few go-rounds. Your attention to detail and your love for antique architecture is so evident and heartwarming. I hate watching other home improvement shows where they completely demolish perfectly good cabinets and other useful items, while you and Michael travel around on your golf cart collecting old wood, windows, and discarded furniture. A-MAZING! I just love you guys, and you motivate me to do the same! Perfect show!!
I’m a big fan from Long Island, NY!
Excellent post. I definitely appreciate this website. Continue the good work!

Love your show, love your blog, you guys are too cute…As a fellow Realtor, I appreciate how many irons you have in the fire…people think what we do is easy, and you guys are killin it! Keep up the good work!
Will Restoring Galveston be continuing in 2022? We were able to visit Galveston Nov. 2021, & noticed there are still many places in need of restoration š You two & your team have done wonders so far, you know we just never want a good thing to end!
P.S. we really wanted to visit your SodaPop Shop & couldnāt figure out what happened to it, except that maybe the Covid stuff messed things up. Prayers of hope for a better future for all ššā¤ļø
Love your show. You two are talented and delightful. Iām wondering if you wear your cross necklace upside down because of St. Peterās remark? I think that is a beautiful sentiment.

I love this show and love the attitude about community.
Iāve learned a some new things about Renoās watching the show. I only have one complaint. Why does the wife talk so loud? Is she hard of hearing? Iām a nurse and this is a question I would ask a patient. Itās annoying.
